Why won’t my WebP file open?
WebP is an image format made by Google for the web. Browsers support it, which is why so many sites serve it — but a lot of desktop software does not. Older versions of Photoshop, some image viewers, Office, and various print and design tools still reject WebP. Converting to JPG gives you a file that opens in all of them.
